Two hours of jazzy music of the beat generation.

34 different acts in this show, here is some information about some of them:

Ken Nordine:

Nordine started his career in the forties doing voice work on radio programs but made a name for himself during the beat era with his combination of spoken word poetry and jazz as exemplified on his classic record World Jazz. He has done extensive voice over work for other artists' work, commercials, classroom filmstrips and many other projects including Video Toaster demo reels. Most people will recognize his voice over his name or face. Nordine was the host of the World Jazz program for Chicago based WBEZ station for forty plus years. He was commissioned by the Fuller Paint Company to create poems about colors to be used as radio advertisements, but he expanded it to an entire album of 34 hues due to the poems popularity. Wink features Ken Nordine reading the poetry of Robert Shure.
