Today we have two live guests! During the first hour of the show we're talking with Jon Steinman. He's the author of Grocery Story: The Promise of Food co-ops in the Age of Grocery Giants. He's in the middle of his book tour, visiting countless co-ops around the US and Canada, spreading the message of the power of food co-operatives to boost our communities, secure our food systems, and offer powerful antidotes for the flaws and evils of big food, big agriculture and big grocery.
During the second hour of the show, we're joined by Natalie Silverstein from New York City. Natalie is the author of Simple Acts: The Busy Family's Guide to Giving Back. Natalie shares with us her deep insights and experiences with raising her kids with a deep sense of service, and how a busy family can weave community service and volunteering into their everyday lives, even in the simplest of ways.
